UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) film cross knotless netting is the premium tier of modern commercial netting. Instead of conventional filament yarn, it is built from UHMWPE film (pioneered by Teijin's Endumax® and industrialized into knotless fishing nets together with Kinoshita Fishing Net's MX-4, the world's first UHMWPE-film knotless net, launched in 2020). Threads are crossed and interlocked without knots, preserving full twine strength through every mesh intersection.UHMWPE twine can carry a working load comparable to much heavier conventional twines - hence the thin, light construction.
