Why do we use water-soluble resin to treat monofilament fishing nets?
Water-soluble resin is used to treat monofilament fishing nets, effectively "locking" the smooth knots, stabilizing the mesh,

and enhancing both knot strength and abrasion resistance. Untreated monofilament nets are prone to knot slippage-due

to the material's smooth surface and low coefficient of friction-which can alter mesh size or even cause knots to come undone.

Impregnation with water-soluble resin creates a thin film over the knots and monofilament surfaces; this acts like a "spot weld"

and increases friction, thereby stabilizing mesh dimensions. The resin film distributes stress at the knots, minimizes cutting and

abrasion between monofilament strands, boosts knot strength, and extends the net's service life. As the resin utilizes water as a

solvent or dispersion medium, it offers low VOC emissions, non-flammability, and low toxicity, making it safer for operators and

the environment. The material is easy to clean up, compatible with various application methods (such as padding, brushing, or

spraying), dries quickly, and is cost-effective. Furthermore, properties such as stiffness, flexibility, water resistance, and gloss can

be adjusted, and the resin can be formulated with additives-including UV stabilizers, antimicrobial agents, and dyes-to impart

additional functionalities.
